You would never put an address in your GPS and then sit idle in your car waiting until you were sure the path would be clear before leaving.
The GPS works best as you start moving, especially the one with real-time traffic updates and course corrections. The closer you get to your destination the more possible routes might appear to get you where you’re going using the best, most efficient route possible.
But none of this happens unless you put the car in “drive” and press the gas.
So what are you waiting for in that project you’re working on? Your career? Your first book? Press the gas and take action. The principle is true in almost anything we do:
The path becomes clear as we move and act.
You can pinpoint the destination and plan the route and enter it into your GPS — preparing for launch — but you’ll never actually get there until you drive. And often in hindsight you’ll see that the route was never like you’d expected and yet you can’t imagine it any other way.
Trust your instincts and GO.
